Dear Colleagues:
As you may have heard, the university has adopted a new course evaluation software entitled Class Climate. Class Climate is a product of Scantron and hopefully, will be used in years to come. We plan on launching Class Climate on Monday, November 21st. Your first experience with Class Climate will depend upon the type of course you are teaching this quarter: in-person, online or hybrid. If your class is in-person, on the 21st you will receive an e-mail containing a pdf of your course evaluation. You will print these out, distribute them to your students, and, upon completion, campus mail them to OIE (MS-9033). If you are teaching an online or hybrid course, your registered students will receive an e-mail asking them to complete course evaluations.
During this quarter, we are starting Class Climate with a minimal amount of features. In future quarters, we intend to provide faculty with the ability to choose their own evaluation form among those developed by the faculty senate. In addition, we hope to provide faculty with the options to administer evaluations via paper, online, through Canvas, or a mixture of these options. We will keep you updated as these features are developed. In the meantime, you can see a list of FAQs at https://oie.wwu.edu/evaluations.
