Qualtrics Data Storage, Security and Ownership

Data Storage

Survey responses collected through Qualtrics, and information uploaded to a Qualtrics panel are hosted by “third party data centers that are SSAE-16 SOC II certified”. Read the Qualtrics security statement.

Data Ownership

Intellectual property rights for faculty academic research are owned by the faculty member. All other data within Western’s Qualtrics account – including information uploaded through panels, within a survey, and survey responses – are owned by Western. Relevant Qualtrics and Western policies detailing intellectual property rights are linked below.

On-Campus Administration

On-campus administration of Western’s Qualtrics user accounts is handled by brand administrators. All brand administrators have signed the brand administrator agreement   in order to protect user privacy as well as guide enforcement actions.

Users can view recent logins to their accounts by clicking on their name in the upper right corner of your Qualtrics account and selecting ‘Account Settings’. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to view records listed under ‘Recent Logins’. Please see example below. Unauthorized entry into any account is Research Misconduct.
